Local Gourmet

All of the ingredients we use here at Y'Not Organic are just that: organic and local. We stock our kitchen in much the same way as our home kitchen, with daily deliveries of fresh, organic ingredients that we select from local Central Coast growers. We pride ourselves in being one of the only 100% vegan and organic restaurants in San Luis Obispo County, serving you freshness and tastiness daily from our establishment in Pismo Beach.

In addition to our menu items, we also offer daily specials inspired by seasonal ingredients, the weather, and how we are feeling. We are always on the lookout for new sources of ideas and inspiration, so when we travel the world (which we admit we do often), we bring back our favorite flavors and culinary discoveries.

Do not forget to visit our restaurant across the parking lot. Hapy Bistro offers the same quality you expect from the owners of Y'Not Organic. You can even take your meal over and eat it with friends or family that are dining at Hapy Bistro.

Our History

This dream started due to a real need in our Central Coast community for vegan, eco-friendly, and 100% organic food. At the time, options in San Luis Obispo County were slim and almost nonexistent. That was when the Fadel family had an idea. They wanted to create a space providing incredible food that met this community's needs.

Y'Not Organic was soon created, and the name was inspired by the oldest brother of the family, Tony. (Y'Not is just Tony spelled backwards.) The lotus flower in the logo symbolizes the struggle of overcoming challenges to blossom. The lotus grows in mud, survives in a harsh environment, and then flourishes and blooms into a gorgeous flower.

The flower's symbolism also represents the Fadel family's journey from across the seas to build a new life in the United States. In the late 1980s, Issa Fadel left home to find a better life for his wife and children. He traveled to several countries before settling in the United States, qualifying for permanent residence and moving to California. He and his family left everything to start from scratch.

Once the three sons grew up, they noticed a "For Lease" sign across the parking lot where they enjoyed sushi in Pismo Beach. It was there that the idea for Hapy Bistro was born. Together with chef Gustavo Nunez, they created a menu that highlighted the Fadels' heritage and Nunez's experience in Mediterranean cuisine.

After Hapy Bistro was crafted, Y'Not Organic followed shortly after. Providing a place in the community for the healthiest and tastiest plant-inspired cuisine on the Central Coast.

To this day, the Fadels' endeavors are rooted in passion, family, and community-building. Since coming to the Central Coast, the Fadels have helped other families build a future for themselves in the United States.
